I have just bought my first spinning wheel Yeah!!!!
I've been looking into getting one for ages but they are quite expensive and so I got my hubby to make me a simple drop spindle. I then spent hours on you tube watching "how to spin" tutorials and really enjoyed it.
Not that my end result was anything to write home about but who cares I was just learning.
I decided on getting a Kiwi 2 Spinning wheel as it is a good wheel for beginners and I Love it!!! Also pennies are tight and at £225 it was at the top of my budget for now, plus I might of hated it so investing in a more expensive traditional looking wheel was a no no. Maybe when the kids get older or when I win the Lotto!!!
I only live about 40mins drive from World of Wool which is near Huddersfield so I took the drive over and "WOW" it's brilliant.
You can purchase 100g of dyed 100% Merino wool top for only £2.70, how fantastic is that!!!
Well spinning is not easy at first , but with plenty of practice I'm sure I'll get there, the main thing is to relax and ENJOY...
My aim is to produce that beautiful Thick and Thin yarn...I adore it, so when I get some I will post an image and will be Mucho Chuffed!!!

Tadaaa!!! my first batch of handspun yarn....
I plied two yarns together as I wasn't sure that it wouldn't fall apart as a single .Ha Ha!!
Well, it's not thick and thin but I think I can still class it is an art yarn.. maybe!!
Don't know what I'm going to make with it yet,
I might do some lovely newborn headbands.
